Hello, everyone. This is John Grande coming to you once again from DimeSoft. As always, I am thrilled to talk to you about Acumatica ERP. Today we are going to be talking about how to add a line item in a form in Acumatica. Without any further delay, let's go ahead and jump into the cloud and take a look.
Here we are once again inside of a sales order. Remember, the functionality we're about to show you can apply to any forms. Before I can do anything here on the bottom, which is where the line items will be, I have to complete the required sections. Those are denoted by the red asterisks. Those are required fields. We'll populate those with a customer. Now you see these buttons down here below in this header are no longer grayed out. In fact, we can mouse over them to find out what they are. I'm going to go ahead and click on that plus sign, which is going to allow me to add a line item. It's blank, as you can see. It is pre-populated in this field, but I can choose anything that's already an option for me. We'll leave it as it is.
To move from field to field, I am hitting the tab key. You'll see that there's another red asterisk here, which means it is a required field. I'm going to go ahead and pick an item. You'll see that it populated all the way across. Once again, I can hit the tab key to go across or I can use my mouse and click into any specific field. Once I'm satisfied that the line is complete, in this case I'll just put a quantity of one. To create a new line, I can either go up here and hit the plus sign. Or, the easiest way is just to hit the down arrow on my keyboard, which I'm doing now. You'll see it just creates a new line.
One other quick note to go through before we finish with this exercise, you'll notice that under inventory ID, once again we see a hyperlink. Remember, every time you see a hyperlink inside of Acumatica, that means you can drill down and see what that is. In this case, I can go directly to the inventory record. I'll do that by simply clicking. You'll see that the inventory record opens right up. I could see anything from how many I have in stock, where it's located, pricing info, etc. That's for another video.
That's all we're going to do for today. If you do have any questions or would like to participate in any of our public online demos, or get more information about Acumatica, feel free to reach out to me directly.
