This is John Grande from DimeSoft Business Solutions, and I'm the guy who loves to talk about Acumatica. Today, we're going to talk about how multi-branches or multi-divisions are supported within Acumatica.
In this particular example, we have a sales order open. A brand new sales order has not been populated or filled out yet. Right here in the header, you will see there's a drop-down menu, and this is where I can select which branch or division I want to pertain to this particular sales order. Our two choices are the Headquarters or the Subsidiary. We'll leave it on Headquarters, and something to keep in mind is that we can assign users to a specific division. If you want to restrict access to divisions or branches based on a user-by-user basis, you can certainly do that in the configuration.
Another choice I want to show you is I'm going to go ahead and populate the required field here, and so we can get started on a sales order. Here on the line item level, I'm going to add a row and on my first line I can choose what my branch is going to be. Also, if I click magnifying glass here, you'll see that there's actually two divisions here, and I'm going to leave it on Headquarters. I'll choose my Inventory ID and a quantity of one, it doesn't matter, of course.
By hitting the down arrow, it's going to create another row, and I can choose a completely separate division or branch if I, the user, have access to that. I'm going to go ahead and find some other item and make that a quantity of 10. There you have it. In one sales order, you see that we have the ability to ship out or place an order for two different items or the same item, it doesn't matter, but coming out of two branches or divisions.
From an accounting standpoint, the difference between the two is if you choose it on the page level, this does not create a do-to-do from journal entries. If you do select it on the line item level, then it will create do-to-do from journal entries.
That's it, folks. I'd like to thank you for taking this minute or two to take a look at this video. If you do have any questions about anything you see here or anything about Acumatica in general, I would encourage you to give me a call here at my office at 951-928-1990, extension 212. Thank you.
